An agent getting ready to exercise

It’s the time of year when real estate professionals are gearing up for a busy spring and summer. With existing existing home sales expected sales expected to increase by as much as 13.5 percent over last spring, there may be new opportunities for those who are prepared to reach out and grab it.

But increased time and effort can bring on unwanted stress and fatigue. Smart agents will prepare themselves now, taking the time to de-stress and refresh their bodies and minds in time to meet the spring and summer rush.

Health professionals suggest seven proven ways to reduce stress and optimize your health and energy:

  1. Acknowledge your stress. It’s the first step toward learning to manage it
  2. Sell yourself to yourself. When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself of all the things you do well
  3. Eat a healthy diet. Don’t smoke, and reduce your intake of alcohol and caffeine
  4. Exercise regularly, whether in active sports, at the gym, or doing yoga or aerobic exercise
  5. Establish regular sleep habits. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
  6. Learn and practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, guided imagery, meditation, or progressive muscle relaxation
  7. Set realistic goals. Understand that no matter your skills, not every deal will go your way

If it seems these seven steps look remarkably like the steps to a healthy lifestyle for the long term, congratulations. You are well on your way.
